Join the B&O to learn about the history of its iconic railroad china!

On Saturday, April 13 at 1:30 PM and Sunday, April 14 at 1 PM, Allen Young, a member of the B&O Railroad Museum and B&O Historical Society, will share a presentation of patterns and manufacturers from the 1870s onward.

About the Lecturer:

Douglas Allen Young (“Allen”) has been an HO scale B&O steam-to diesel era modeler since the mid-1970s, and began actively collecting B&O china by 1995. A longtime member of the B&O Railroad Historical Society and B&O Railroad Museum, he wrote a four-part article series about B&O china patterns and manufacturers for the Society’s “The Sentinel” magazine between late 2018 and mid-2020, and has done several presentations on the subject. He is always on the lookout for rare pieces to either photograph or add to his collection, constantly learns new things about the hobby, and is always happy to share what he learns with others.

Admission:

The roundhouse was my favorite part, because it gives a true feel for what goes on in a roundhouse—the cars are stationary, but seeing the actual tracks is eye-opening.
