B&O Railroad Museum Celebrating Halloween with Annual Pumpkin Patch Express and Toddler Time

BALTIMORE, MD – October 20, 2022 – In celebration of Halloween and the season of Autumn, the B&O Railroad Museum is holding its annual Pumpkin Patch Express for families with special train rides on October 22-23 and October 28-31. Visitors are invited to come in their Halloween costumes for a train ride along the first mile of commercial railroad in the country, where they’ll then be able to deboard for photo ops at the First Mile Stable (home of the Baltimore City Mounted Unit), and pumpkin decorating! Guests will also meet the horses at the stable and enjoy Autumn snacks before boarding the Pumpkin Patch Express back to the Museum.  The Pumpkin Patch Express is the perfect experience for families with young children.

October 22 – 11:00 AM 

October 23 – 2:00 PM 

October 28 – 11:00 AM & 3:30 PM 

October 29 – 11:00 AM & 2:00 PM 

October 30 – 11:00 AM & 2:00 PM 

October 31 – 11:00 AM

The B&O Railroad Museum is also hosting a Halloween-themed Toddler Time on Thursday, October 27, at 10:30 AM. Guests are encouraged to bring their children in their costumes to participate in the annual costume parade around campus as well as some fun Halloween-themed activities. There will be a “Decorate the Pumpkin Patch” craft in addition to a reading of The Spooky Express before the costume parade. This is always the most popular Toddler Time of the year, so come be a part of the parade!

The roundhouse was my favorite part, because it gives a true feel for what goes on in a roundhouse—the cars are stationary, but seeing the actual tracks is eye-opening.
