Spend your Spring Break exploring the B&O!  

All week from 10 AM to 4 PM get to know the B&O with themed scavenger hunts! These exploratory experiences are self-guided and are great for guests of all ages.  

Schedule:

See below for a schedule of scavenger hunt themes.  

Monday, March 25  

Participate in our Maryland History Scavenger Hunt! During this scavenger hunt, children will locate Maryland-themed passenger cars, learn about time-zones, and spot H-O scale versions of iconic landmarks. 

Tuesday, March 26

Head into the Bank of America Model Train Gallery for a mini scavenger hunt! While visiting the little people of the layout, children will learn about street safety. 

Wednesday, March 27

Explore the museum both inside and out with our Simple Machines Scavenger Hunt! On this scavenger hunt, children will learn about machines big and small that are integral to transportation.  

Thursday, March 28 

Head out to B&O’s backyard for our Nature on the Railroad Scavenger Hunt! Exploring different train layouts and learning about natural resources, children will get to see how nature helps us live our everyday lives.  

Friday, March 29  

Love the Underground Railroad Exhibition? Follow the links of the exhibition through the museum with the Underground Railroad Scavenger Hunt! During this scavenger hunt, children will learn about Henry “Box” Brown and William and Ellen Craft, Freedom Seekers who passed right through Mount Clare Station!  

Scavenger hunts are available at the information desk in the Roundhouse.
