Spend part of your Spring Break at the B&O!

Join us at the Museum for a day of special kids programming and activities for our exhibit, The Underground Railroad: Freedom Seekers on the B&O Railroad.

Kids can discover the stories of Henry “Box” Brown and William and Ellen Craft and their journeys to freedom using the routes and resources of the Underground Railroad. Experience tours, workshops, and hands-on activities to understand the connection between the B&O Railroad and the Underground Railroad.

Schedule:

Roundhouse Craft Table

Kids will be able to create a Henry “Box” Brown pop-up card that displays him emerging from the crate he shipped himself in to freedom. They will also be able to craft paper lanterns using tea light candles.

I love that the museum is what remains of the old train yard and the number and variety of train cars is remarkable.
