Sensory Sundays Continue in 2025!

First Sundays in select months are dedicated Sensory Awareness. These days will include environmental accommodations (no music, low lighting, quiet areas, increased signage for areas with sound effects), as well as sensory-friendly events (kids craft, train ride, and tour) and resources (sensory kits, social stories, and community table).

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
  • 10 AM – Museum Opens (sensory activity and resource table* available in Roundhouse until 3 PM)
  • 12:30 PM – Sensory-friendly Train Ride**
  • 2:30 PM – Sensory-friendly Tour

* Specific activities and resources will differ for each date.
** Sensory Sunday on February 2, 2025 will not offer a train ride.
Train ride tickets for the other Sensory Sundays will be available for purchase on-site.

The Underground Railroad exhibit particularly made an impression. You can learn about the enslaved people who passed through Mount Clare Station as their last stop before reaching the northern states. Sobering and inspiring stories.
