Costs: $30 per scout, $16 per adult, den/pack leaders are free. Minimum of 10 scouts required to schedule.
Badges Available: Railroading & Environmental Science
Time: Program length dependent on the number of participants and the specific badge chosen but estimate it taking a few hours to complete.
Please note: $50 non-refundable security deposit required when booking private program.
Environmental Science Merit Badge
The Environmental Science Merit Badge program will teach your scouts about the history and causes of environmental problems like air and water pollution. You will work through a hands-on approach completing activities, tours, and scavenger hunts to not only learn about the railroad’s deep history with environmental impacts but what we can do today to help reverse years of damage.
Railroading Merit Badge
The Railroading Merit Badge program takes place on the museum grounds, the site of the first commercial railroad in the United States. By earning this Merit Badge scouts will learn about all parts of the railroad from the history of the B&O Railroad and the technology at play to railroad safety and employment opportunities. This is a great program for anyone interested in history, technology or the railroad.
