Part of the Building Baltimore Lecture Series: The B&O’s Role in the Making of Charm City

From 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, join Patrick F. Chase, historian and author of Jonathan Knight: Pathfinder of American Railroads, for a lecture about Jonathan Knight, the first Chief Engineer of the B&O Railroad.

As told by Chase, Knight was a brilliant mathematician and surveyor, whose extraordinary endeavors led to the expansion of the National Road and the B&O Railroad. During his lecture, Chase will dive into Knight’s influence on some of the nation’s greatest civil engineers, including his mentee, Benjamin H. Latrobe.

After the lecture, there will be a Q&A session, and Chase’s book will be on sale in the gift shop!
