The B&O-themed LEGO design competition returns!

LEGO lovers and builders are invited to submit their one-of-a-kind creations for a chance to win a B&O Membership and swag, and top builders will win four tickets to Brick Universe’s Annapolis event on September 27 & 28, 2025!  

Round 1 

From May 1 to June 15, entrants submit their creations. Before submitting, please review guidelines.
After the submission period, finalists will be selected by an internal panel of judges and notified by June 27.  

Round 2  

Selected finalists will display their creations for voting by museum visitors, who will decide the winners!  


Submission Rules:

  • Entries must be built ahead of time. 
  • Priority given to models that connect to B&O Railroad, B&O Railroad Museum, or B&O affiliated railroad like Chessie or CSX.  
  • Must fit on top of a 6-foot folding table (71” long, 29” wide).  
  • Entries must be an original creation-no kits or tutorials.
  • All entries must be built by the name that appears on the contest submission form. 
  • You must be able to transport your design to the museum and set it up on your own on Friday, July 11 or Saturday, July 12 without the help of museum staff. 
  • Submission groups:
    • Ages 10 and under
    • 11- 17
    • 18+
    • Group submission (max 4 people) 

When submitting, include photos from each side and one of the contestant(s) with the design.

Return May 1 to submit your creation!

Wonderful rail museum with many historic engines, passenger cars, mail car, troop transport, and more. Several models layouts including the Smithsonian collection of models which was amazing. Wonderful presentation on the underground railroad. We will visit again.
