- Thrifty Tuesday
Tuesday, August 5, 2008 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. All Aboard! The B&O offers half-price admission for all visitors the first Tuesday of every month! Visitors can tour many of the Museum's facilities including the 1884 Roundhouse where you can climb aboard a real locomotive and see the most comprehensive collection of American railroad artifacts in the world.

Wednesday, August 6, 2008 10:30 a.m. Visit the Museum and enjoy story time as you listen to classic railroad children's books. Kiddie train rides are included in the price of admission. Recommended for children between the ages of 2-5.
- Turntable Demonstrations
Saturday, August 9, 2008 Demonstrations at 11:30, 1:30, 2:30 Ever wonder how the Museum moves locomotives and cars in and out of the 1884 Roundhouse? Watch Museum staff use the turntable to move an historic railcar. Free train rides included in the price of admission.
- Toddler Time
Wednesday, August 20, 2008 10:30 a.m. Visit the Museum and enjoy story time as you listen to classic railroad children's books. Kiddie train rides are included in the price of admission. Recommended for children between the ages of 2-5.
September 2008
- Boy & Girl Scout Railroading Month at the B&O
September 2008 All reserved groups of 20 or more will get the group discount rate for scouts and chaperones at the youth group rate of $6.00 per person. Train rides are included on Wednesdays-Sundays in September. Call today to reserve your group!

Saturday, September 13 & Sunday, September 14, 2008 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The B&O Railroad Museum is bringing alive the magic and adventure of American Railroading with Kids Fest 2008 on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14. Enjoy exciting performances by the kid's band Milkshake, free train rides, free parking and much more! Children can even participate in an "All Aboard" Calling Contest. Enjoy activities, entertainment, and a train load of fun for everyone!

- Steam Days
Saturday, October 4 & Sunday, October 5, 2008 Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Ride behind the St. Elizabeth, a 1950 Porter built-saddle tank steam Engine. Programs and demonstrations highlight steam power and celebrate the Museum's historic steam engine collection, which includes icons such as the oldest operating steam locomotive William Mason, The Tom Thumb, and Lafayette.

Visitors can tour many of the Museum's facilities including the 1884 Roundhouse where you can climb aboard a real locomotive and see the most comprehensive collection of American railroad artifacts in the world.

Friday, October 31, 2008 Enjoy story time as you listen to spooky renditions of Halloween ghost stories. Feel free to come in costume and be a part of our Halloween parade around the Museum. Kiddie train rides are included in the price of admission.

- Veterans Day Weekend at the B&O
Saturday, November 8 & Sunday, November 9, 2008 Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Salute the military and veterans at the B&O! Join us for special living history presentations by members of the 4th Infantry Division Military Police Unit and on our WWII Troop Sleeper. Vintage military vehicles will also be on display.
- Holiday Festival of Trains at the B&O
Friday, November 28 through Tuesday, December 30, 2008 Friday, November 28, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Holiday celebration of toy trains and model railroading layouts beginning with the arrival of Santa by locomotive on Friday, November 28, 2008. The festival features many different layouts including the Museum’s “HO” model train layout in the C&O #725 passenger car and the outdoor “G” scale layout. Children can visit with Santa on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the Festival. Please note: The Museum is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Saturday, December 6 & Sunday, December 7, 2008 Saturday, December 13 & Sunday, December 14, 2008 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Join the B&O Railroad Museum for our annual Breakfast with Santa! Enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast, visit with Santa, take a train ride and enjoy the holiday toy train layouts! There is also the opportunity to get your picture made with Santa. Tickets go on sale November 3, 2008.
